PROCESS FOR THE ELECTRICIAN

The process of electrically refurbishing your kitchen is done in two stages, the first fix and the second fix

FIRST FIX LIST

1. The electrician will require all the kitchen cabinets to be removed.
 

2. The electricians will mark on the kitchen walls all the positions for the cabinet lights, sockets, and appliance power.
 

3. From your Consumer Unit, the electrician will run 1 x new circuit into the kitchen.
 

4. PLEASE SELECT AN ADD-ON TO COMPLETE THIS PACKAGE. Example: If you select (0 to 1 meter?) this means that the electrician can get the new circuits into the kitchen without lifting any floorboards. Or if you select (6 to 9 meters?) this means that the electrician will need to lift floorboards in 2 / 3 bedrooms upstairs and drill and run the new cables through the floorboards and drop them into the various parts of the kitchen area.
 

5. The electrician will chase the cables and the back boxes in the various cabinet lights, sockets, and appliance power positions.
 

6. The electrician will plaster over the chased cable and around the socket back boxes.
 

7. This is the end of the first fix for the electrician, now the Joiner and the Plumber will put in the kitchen units and start the plumbing installation.

SECOND FIX LIST

1. After the kitchen units have been fitted and the walls are tiled, the electrician will come and install the lights, sockets facias, and sockets for the appliances.
 

2. The electrician tests the new circuits and makes the final connection to your consumer unit.
 

3. Test the operation of the lights at all the sockets and issue the customer with an Electrical Installation Certificate. 

When the deposit payment is made, the local electrician will visit your property to discuss the job in more detail.
